Central NJ Brides with a tight budget?

Danni, on October 25, 2017 at 10:21 PM Posted in New Jersey Planning 0 38

Any brides from NJ who can help a girl out? Why oh why can I not find those hidden gems? Those diamonds hidden far far away from wedding vendors? Gems that don't start at $10,000? All I want is a pretty wedding with a reception on on-site and enough space for 100 people. Is there anywhere in New Jersey to do that that will not absolutely give me a heart attack? SOS!

Ehhh... depends on what your looking for and what's your definition of central NJ. I had mine at my parents farm in readington and spent about 15k total.

I'm from central New Jersey. But I'm not necessarily looking to have my wedding here in central New Jersey. I'm open to anywhere in New Jersey. And that's pretty lucky that your parents have a farm and a bunch of land! 15k would be a delight!

I have 2 friends who did their weddings at woods edge farm in Stockton and another who did it at the readington museum and she spent 20k total. I had a friend who did theirs at a firehouse in Holland twp that was really nice and very inexpensive.

Try the Hird Lake Spa. It's in north NJ, but it's very reasonable and they are very flexible to work with.

    Others;

    Zeris Mountain Inn

Valley Crest Farms (you need a caterer here, but it's lovely)

    Westwood at Garwood

Pompton Lakes Elks Club (really cute, great staff, on a riverside)

I would go a little farther south - it will get a little bit cheaper if you go down there.

Try McFaddens Catering at Lakeside Manor. We checked them out - They were very nice and fairly affordable.

NJ is pretty pricey. You should look into PA.

Your area is just so expensive. I can't imagine. I'm just grateful to be in the middle of nowhere SC.

I think someone told me Vanderbilt (?) in staten island is cheap... not sure, I never looked.

also you can lower the price by doing a few things:

    cut your guest list

have an off day wedding between Monday and Thursday.

( Sunday weddings are NOT CHEAP. I m paying 170PP for my Sunday wedding in NJ)

do beer and wine only instead of full open bar

I m sure there are other stuff, too... I didn't need to look into that stuff, so I m not sure, but there are a lot of users here who will be more than glad to pass down information on how to save.

My friend's brother is getting married at the Cranbury Inn. Pricing seems reasonable at a quick glance. Space is BEAUTIFUL too!
