Central Texas Outdoor Wedding in December

Jasmine, on September 21, 2019 at 12:37 AM Posted in Texas Planning 0 2
I live in the Austin area and I want to have the reception outside. I'm really nervous that it will be an ugly day but having it outside is my dream. What are your thoughts/tips?

Welcome to the WeddingWire community Jasmine! It’s so great to have you join us here!!

Have you already booked your venue? Does it have a suitable outdoor area to utilize?

Would it be an option to hire a tent to get the outdoor feel without being open to the elements?

What is it about an outdoor wedding that you are trying to achieve with your wedding?

If you're doing an outside wedding ceremony I definitely recommend an indoor reception because it going to be cold (maybe...? Texas has dumb weather.Smiley xd ). I'd also have blankets set out for your guests and potentially a warm cider or hot chocolate that they can sip on during the ceremony? I grew up in the Fredericksburg area and while it doesn't snow, it would be uncomfortable to sit outside for extended periods of time without something to warm ya up. lol All in all, an outdoor ceremony will be beautiful. Make sure to mention it on your website so guests can dress accordingly.
