Centrepieces for rectangular tables... show me yours!

Caroline, on September 10, 2015 at 3:28 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 12

We're doing rectangular tables for our reception. I'm trying to get some ideas for some long, low centrepieces (nothing tall that would obstruct the view). The vibe I'm going for is romantic and elegant. I've Pinterested this idea to death, but I'd like to see some real life examples Smiley smile

We wound up doing two smaller centerpieces, one at each end of the table. Only the one facing the center of the room had a number on it. Then we scattered some (paper) flowers across the rest of the table.

We're doing long garland centerpieces with white flower accents and candles, kind like this.

I'm DIYing my centerpieces, but the basic idea is wine-colored table runner with 3 small vases of flowers (mix of sunflowers, roses, and mini hydrangeas) down the length of the table, alternating with votive candles surrounded by small stones. Unfortunately the picture of the mockup I did is on my real camera, not my phone.

We did the flowers and garlands and candles and all that jazz, I love candles so I wanted as many of them as possible. I would check with your florist about that vase, they'll usually order or find whatever it is you want to meet your vision.

I haven't done a mockup... but I have white tablecloths and will put navy satin table runners on each. Along the runner, there will be a mirror in the middle with a low silk/paper flower centerpiece on it and lots of mercury glass votives and yellow flower petals along the runner. No chargers or placemats because I'm a cheapass. Yellow cloth napkins.

@beautyofdreams It is a bit pricey. But I love the look, so I just made the tables longer to cut down on the amount of them we needed. (Which probably had very little effect on the cost...but I'll pretend.)

This is our inspiration. We are planning on 1 centerpiece per table with frosted votives scattered on the rest of the table. The centerpiece and table number will be in the center. Our tables are shorter (8-12 people) than what's in the inspiration photo. Our color scheme is a bit different also.
