Ceremony and reception in same space?

FutureMrs.DAO, on September 16, 2016 at 10:16 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 14

This is what we are doing. Wondering if anyone else is going about it this way and how they will prepare for the room to be flipped. Will reception tables already be visible? Will they be hidden? We are having our wedding at a loft so we will be working with our caterers on the reception table set up

Does the venue have another location that you could hold a cocktail hour while they flip the room?

Yes there is an area to hold guests for cocktail hour. I think i might need drapery to divide these two areas

We're doing this but having the cocktail hour in the lower level of the space while they flip the room.

We are having it all in one place. Hoping the weather is great so the ceremony will be outside, so cocktail and reception is on the inside.

We are doing this. The tables are out of site during the ceremony and then during our cocktail hour they will "flip the room" and have the reception tables brought out and set. I've also seen people just have the reception tables already there for the ceremony instead of the rows of chairs and have an aisle going through the center, this way they don't have to flip the room at all.

Who is in charge of setting up the room? ETA: Also, is the venue providing the rental equipment (i.e., chairs, tables, linens, dinnerware)?

We are doing this. There will be drapery set-up to hide the tables; after the ceremony we will move to the bar area for cocktail hour, while they move the chairs and shuffle some tables, and finish the set-up. They are taking care of everything in that respect, even providing the drapery.

I've been to a wedding at a restaurant where they did this. We were in the bar/back seating area for cocktail hour, while they flipped the ceremony/reception space behind a pipe and drape. It was fine, and people were so busy eating yummy appetizers and catching up they barely noticed the staff.

We are kind of doing this. We are having it in a hotel ballroom that can be divided into three sections. We will have one air wall closed and have a smaller section for the ceremony and then the two other sections of the room will be set up for the reception. There is a hallway outside the ballroom for cocktail hour.

We're having ours at the same site - the ceremony will take place on the dance floor with chairs in rows, and an arch set up for us to marry in front of. Some of the tables will be set up already, but it's a big room so you won't have them right on top of you during the ceremony.

Then cocktail hour will be upstairs in the rotunda (I think that's what it's called) and the room will be finished setting up the downstairs.

We're having the ceremony and reception at the same place as well. The place we chose has a small room that we will be having the ceremony and a larger room that we will have the reception in. We'll have everything set up and won't allow anyone in the reception room until the wedding is over

We are using one venue, however our ceremony is in one room, and then cocktail hour and reception is in another

I am. My ceremony is on one side of the room with a fake wall blocking the reception. During cocktail hour, the fake wall will be moved as well as the ceremony chairs and all the tables for dinner will be in the middle of the room.
