Ceremony Background is a Hottub Gazebo.. Help!

Lindsey, on December 28, 2020 at 11:56 AM Posted in Style and Décor 1 4
We’re having a backyard wedding May 15th next year. There’s so much land with spots that better fit my initial vision, but due to practicality issues we’ve pretty much narrowed things down to the ceremony being in front of this Gazebo. Our wedding colors are sage green and cream. Bridesmaids are in sage green dresses, Groom & Groomsmen will be in light beige tuxes. Most of our decor will consist of greenery, candles, string & fairy lights.
Clearly we have to do a lot of general cleaning up, landscaping, etc. We’re considering repainting it as well (color suggestions would be great). My fiancé was going to built an Arbor which I’ve already bought decor for but I’m wondering if an arbor will be too busy in front of the gazebo? Color suggestions for the arbor would be helpful.. And then I was going to hang some sort of fabric to hide the hot tub, but I’m having trouble envisioning how to make that not look stupid.. Any suggestions would be great.

Faux greenery walls or a white tent in front may help. If you are hiring a florist, my florist saved the day! We had large, blocked concrete throughout our reception area and she covered with white drapery and drew the eyes to a focal point. It was magical!! I didn’t even notice the large concrete blocks. Hope this helps!! ❤️

I agree. You could cover the front of the gazebo with white drapery and have the arbor you want with your decorations in front of it. The drapery in front of the gazebo would be like a large backdrop.

I think trying to hide it would draw more attention to it. I didn’t see the hot tub until I really looked, maybe it’s more noticeable in person. Instead of doing an arbor can you drape the door like you wanted to drape it?
I think if you clean up and stain the gazebo, plant some new bushes/florals in front, and drape the door it will look beautiful. You could also do some kind of hanging floral in each of the little “windows”
Plus if you have a bridal party they could stand Infront of the hot tub covering it some.

I agree with Cassidy - especially with the decorated arbor in front of the gazebo to draw your eye even further!!

If anything you could do some light camouflaging by putting more plants or faux greenery walls in front of the hot tub like Katie suggested!

I think a natural wood arbor would look great with your white floral and greenery swag - and it would complement the wood trim on the gazebo. Smiley heart
