Ceremony decorating

Tiffany, on July 22, 2021 at 12:13 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 8
This might be a dumb question lol but as the bride, how do i set up the decor for the ceremony (signs, floral, etc)? we are able to come in the night before to set up the reception area, but the ceremony space is outside..would i just designate someone to do it for me, or go early in the morning the day of?

Will you and your future spouse have time to do it the morning of? If not, I would hire someone to take care of it.

It really depends on your venue. I would ask them what their policy is and follow that!

This is the kind of thing that most people hire a DOC (day of coordinator) to take care of. Unless you and your FH will have time to decorate the ceremony space yourselves that morning, I'd recommend hiring a coordinator to take care of it! You could still decorate the reception area the night before since your venue allows it

Our venue has a "day-of" staff person whose sole job is to set everything up for us. If you do not have someone through your venue I would suggest designating someone you trust. Mom, sister, MOH, etc. I am guessing you will be preoccupied on the day of your wedding!

What about asking a cousin, friend, someone not in the wedding party that you trust. Family always want to help out. Just throw it out there and see. Best wishes!

Do you have a wedding planner or day of coordinator, or does your venue provide any services? Depending on your venue, they might have folks who do minimal set-up for your event.

Our venue set up chairs for our outdoor ceremony and our florist installed the arbor decoration. We had no other decor specific for our ceremony.

For our reception, our venue set up the tables and chairs how we requested, and we made final adjustments that morning and then did the florals and table decor. The venue also catered, so they set the tables for us. We did most of our decor setup the night before or morning of, but in general everything was kept pretty minimal.

Our venue has a day of coordinator and their staff will set up everything. The owner actually told me "you're not allowed to lift a finger that day". So I just have to tell them how I want it and they'll execute.
