Ceremony music without power?

Marissa , on August 29, 2019 at 8:02 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 5
Hello everyone!
I’m getting married 9/7 and my DJ was supposed to provide music at our ceremony as well as our reception. However, he just notified us yesterday that his ceremony system isn’t portable and requires access to electricity, which there is none at the ceremony sight.
We’re thinking of buying this speaker and trusting a guest/family member to control the music. I’m not sure who to go to, though and I’m a little unsure of the speaker’s sound.
I know it’s last minute, which is why I especially need advice 😬
Has anyone done something similar? Was it simple to do? How did the experience go?

Thanks!

We use two large UE Boom speakers for our beach wedding and had the wings in a phone and we had a friend so the music and it was fine. It’s so quick that it’s wasn't worth stressing over or paying lots of extra money for....at least to me it wasn’t.

What about getting someone to play violin or something none electric for the ceremony?

We have a professional speaker for the ceremony with a speaker and two additional speakers for the reception that pair. A friend will take care of the music for the ceremony and I plan to be on top of the music for the reception. All of our speakers can work without being connected to electricity too.

What about a portable power box the DJ could hook up to?
