Ceremony program help

Leanne, on October 1, 2022 at 10:38 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 7

I am putting together programs for the ceremony. I am running into a road block. I need to list parents. My mother is deceased and my dad is remarried. Although I am close with my step mom, i don't feel 100% about putting "Mr. and Mrs. ________" under bride's parents. any suggestions on how to word this? I do want to include my step mom in the programs

I’m sorry for the loss of your mother. Can you just put their names? You can always put “Brides father and stepmother” Then their names. For instance my parents are separated and my mom remarried. So under brides parents I put: Traci and Paul ___ & Tom ____. I didn’t do Mr & Mrs

I am very sorry about the loss of your mother. For programs with deceased parents, I have always seen it as "the late" person's name. So I would do: John and Rachel Smith & the late Jennifer Montgomery. I would just skip Mr. and Mrs. since it makes you uncomfortable including it.

You could do it on two lines, one for your dad & stepmom, and another for your mom? So like this:

    Mr. ____ & Mrs. ______
    The late Mrs. _______

You should word it this way like the Brides parents and her loving stepmother and add her name. You dont have to put Mr. and Mrs.

I like this. If you're doing one line per person, you could phrase it as either "the late Jane Smith" or "Jane Smith, late mother of the bride" then do "John Smith, father of the bride" and "Sara Smith, step-mother of the bride."
