    in our case, it became a need to have because we are having a bilingual religious ceremony

    If it's a long ceremony I think it's a need, but otherwise I'd say neither.

    Nice to have. I feel if it is a short ceremony no need for them, but if it is a long ceremony then I think it would be nice for guest to follow along. When it comes down to it, your probably the only one who will hold on to these for memories

    Nice to have, I guess. They definitely are not a need. I wouldn't have them whether money was an issue or not. They're getting thrown away 99% of the time anyway.
