Ceremony reception transition

Im thinking about having my ceremony and reception in the same place. Using the dance floor for the alter wirh clairs and then moving the alter and chairs to the food tables after. This will be a transition, im assuming it will take 20 min. I want to do something creative with my guest durring that time.. any suggestions?

    Where will you have a cocktail hour?

    Having a separate space where guests can go hang out for the 20-30min with drinks/apps can be helpful.

    Maybe create a nice space around the bar with your guest table and your guests can get a drink and write in your guest book etc may do the trick.

    Is there any outdoor space or even a large hallway or lobby that could accommodate a brief cocktail hour?

    We are having our ceremony and reception at the same location, in the same room. We will have cocktail hour which will give the staff enough time to "flip" the room over for the reception. During cocktail hour the guests will have passed and station apps and plenty to drink and we booked a band for cocktail hour as well.

    What the PPs said...the way my venue is set up, I will have cocktail HR on the balcony while the room is flipped
