Ceremony script for (newly) already married couple

Kimberly, on April 26, 2021 at 8:32 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 4
I’ll be having my wedding in Puerto Rico. I’ve researched how difficult it is to get married there but also have heard it from plenty of people. I was thinking of having a civil ceremony in NY and then still having my ceremony and reception with family and friends in PR. I’m still undecided but in case I decide to go forward with that plan, how would the ceremony be worded if the couple was already (newly) married?

Have you considered not changing it at all? I don't think there's anything wrong with doing it twice!

I like that actually! I don’t want to lose any of the meaning of the ceremony just because it’ll be easier to sign the paperwork ahead of time.

Exactly! You could always have your officiant add a cute note about it, like you love each other so much you wanted to do it twice Smiley smile

I agree with Chelsea - I’d stick with the normal wedding script!! I have a few friends who’ve had a civil wedding before their wedding because it was a destination wedding or because of visa logistics. They’ve just wrapped up the legal stuff quietly and gone through with a big wedding ceremony and reception publicly!
