Ceremony Script

Merrisa, on April 3, 2018 at 5:55 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 1 7
My fiance & I are not religious and we are getting married in August at farely large outdoor venue. We won't some short (15 minutes tops) and romantic but we are having the hardest time finding a script for our officiant to read (my fiance's step brother will be marrying us). Where did you guys find your ceremony script?

I found a lot of scripts on google. I searched for romantic, nonreligous wedding ceremony. I took a lot of ideas from various scripts and altered them to fit us but it was a huge help

APW has a lot of scripts/vows etc. I almost used a friend as an officiant but after researching on here I realized that I would be doing most of the work (like creating the entire ceremony for instance) and if something went wrong with the paperwork...what a headache that would be so we hired a professional. If you are going to use a friendor, make sure all the legal stuff is covered for your area.

Our officiant gave us a copy of his "standard" ceremony along with links to resources we can use like readings and whatnot.

We're adjusting it to suit ourselves and then will meet him to go over it again before the wedding.

I just finished mine the other day. We googled through scripts, found things that worked, added in personal bits, and boom we had our script!

My FH and I are in the same boat. My son is marrying us and we are working on a script together. I found different ideas on Google by typing in non religious. One thing we found and are in operating in is called "hand washing ceremony". They have a script on line, thou we are changing the wording a little to fit us. We also wrote our own vows and ring vow. Aside from that, we are not having any readings or music so it will be short. (The hand wash is instead of a candle also, for us anyway)

Snippet & Ink has loads of good scripts you can use for inspiration! We read through tons and then wrote our own script. I don’t think our wedding last 15 minutes from the processional to the recessional... and it was lovely.

We're being married by a close friend (who just sent us his certificate showing he's ordained now!) He was ordained through American Marriage Ministries and they have a section on their website called "Wedding Training" that has sample ceremonies and scripts that might help: https://theamm.org/
