Ceremony Stage Decor

Ms2MRS, on August 8, 2016 at 9:24 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 8

My venue has a stage that we will use for ceremony. Can anyone suggest ways to decorate the stage? See pics below

Thinking of a chuppah but we will have to use space for dj & band afterwards. Any Suggestions?

    Nice venue!

Whatever you decide, be careful of putting medium-sized/tall decorations on the foot of the stage. It can block the sight line of some of your guests.

Man that could be tricky............ has your DJ said how long he needs to set up? Ours was 4 hours but then his equipment includes big light bars and stuff. The other thing is who's going to tear down whatever you do so that entertainment can set up? I think you might be best off, maybe doing large pots with flowers or mini columns with tall branches and lights? Or you could go with draping in between the columns in the picture....

BUT WAIT.... you said Chuppa? Are you jewish? If so, doesn't that kind of automatically limit your choices?

On the other hand, from the picture, this is beautiful! It really doesn't need anything!

    Thank you.

Exactly @Midwest May it freaks me out thinking about it. No! I'm not Jewish. I just hate the stage without anything there.

I think you could get by with minimal decor, the space is really pretty! What about just 2 large floral arrangements on either side of the stage? You could then move them around as needed by the dj but still have some decor up there!

I am in the same situation. I would love to have a flower wall, but they seem kind of tricky / expensive to make!

OH! No columns......... okay let's brainstorm............. Are there any rules about what can and can't be done? What kind of ceiling is in the room? I was thinking of a cross between pictues one and two..... You can buy a BOLT of satin for around $22 (I'll find my link) I'm thinking hang 5 in a semi circle (They are so simple to pouf and add shape with nothing more than a rubber band. then You can do lots of things from lighting them from within with inexpensive LED lightstrands with the battery pack, attach florals, or crystals, or even greenery (have a great place in florida, that does several different garlands (live) and they last forever. Depending on the ceiling there's several ways to attach that are easy and quick to move. After the ceremony just move them to a straight line behind the DJ? You could use pipe and drape stands if you didn't want to hang them, we were able to borrow them from a children's theater group, several schools have them also if you have any contacts. But that set up and take down time is probably more than you want unless again you can move them to the back of the stage and use them as backdrop for your entertainment. Let me know if you want any help finding links to inexpensive materials... I found tons....
