Ceremony Time

Gabriela, on February 12, 2020 at 12:41 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 28

Is 5pm late for a ceremony?

We will be getting married in June so i feel like at 5pm it wouldn't be so hot since it's outdoors in the summer but i also feel like the whole day is just already over by that time?!

    I don't think it's too late for a ceremony.

That's when I did mine in June. It makes sense so that the weather cools down

I feel the same way! Our ceremony will also start at 5 in August, and I feel like the whole day is going to fly by way too fast. All this money for just 5-6 hours! UGH.

My sister got married in June and her ceremony started at 5pm! Not gonna lie it was still super hot but we live in Missouri so it’s constant heat!

But I think that was a good start time because any earlier and it would have Been hotter!

Did you feel like the amount of time you had for ceremony and reception was enough? also pictures, when my brother in law got married it felt like the photos took so long. They did them before they went to the reception location.

My ceremony is at 5:30 PM in May. I wanted dinner to be a a normal dinner hour and dancing to start after dark. Our big picture timeline is:

    Ceremony: 5:30 PM

    Cocktail Hour: 6:00-7:00PM

    Dinner: 7:00-8:00PM

    Party: 8:00-11:59PM

I love the timeline! We won't be rushed early in the day for getting ready/pictures. Everyone can sleep in and relax the day of.

We are also doing all of our pictures before. As soon as the ceremony start, I just want to enjoy everything and celebrate. The idea of having to take pictures while everyone is having fun is a no go to me.

Yes! Our ceremony was actually delayed due to weather and a late guest bus, so we started closer to 5:30. Our ceremony was around 20 minutes at most. We had an hour long cocktail hour and did feel rushed for pictures since we didn't do a first look. I wish we would have done more before the ceremony (the ones we could do split up - like father daughter, mother son, bridesmaids, groomsmen, mom daughter, bride flower girl, etc.) rather than waiting to do those until cocktail hour. Our wedding was all at one location though so there wasn't a drive from ceremony to reception.

I don’t think so. We got married at 5:30 in May and it was perfect. We had a crowd that liked to dance and have fun so we didn’t want to end early.

I think 5 is perfect! Mine is at 5:30 in May, the ceremony will only be 30 min with cocktail hour from 6-7. We aren’t doing a first look and my photographer said we should be able to get pictures done by dinner! I don’t think it would be too hot by 5 pm so I wouldn’t worry!

Nope. We are starting at 5 in June. That should help with the heat and we wanted the reception around dinner time

I’m getting married in June of next year and i was going to have mine start at 5 but moved it to 430 because of everything we have going on and to fit time in for the DJ as well. So 5 is a great time especially with the heat index getting low at that time.

No, that isn’t late at all. Most evening weddings start between 5pm and 6pm. My wedding was at 5:30 pm.

No not for the summer time!! sunset is like at 8pm in the summer so you'll still have plenty of sunshine. it will still be warm but definitely cooler than an early afternoon wedding.
