Ceremony Timeline in February?

Zahraa, on October 20, 2020 at 11:05 AM Posted in Community Conversations 0 4

I am getting married on February 28th, 2021 in Decatur, TX, and am trying to decide on a ceremony time. I am mainly just wondering about pictures. We are not doing a first look and not having bridal party as well.

We have the venue for 12 hours but we have to set 5 hours for actual event time. I'm really wanting a late start so we can having the evening for reception.

Would a 4pm be a late start for the ceremony in February? (ceremony will be held outdoor and it's for about 15-30 minutes) and then do couple and family pictures?

I don't think that would be too late for a start time

I agree with Melle. My ceremony start time was 6, so 4 doesn't seem too late at all.

Agreed with PP. 4pm is about average for a ceremony start time!

Is sunset a factor in your wedding -- meaning do you want sunset to be the backdrop of your ceremony or would you want your photos taken during sunset? I only ask because my wedding is in January, and we want sunset pictures. We used the sunset time (which is early -- like 5:10 p.m. that day) to determine when to start our ceremony and time our cocktail hour so we can get our sunset/golden hour photos. If sunset is a factor, use that information (and the guidance of your photographer) to determine the best start time. But outside of that, 4 p.m. is a good time to start the ceremony.
