Chair covers, yes or no?

Danielle, on April 19, 2017 at 2:24 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 37

I am looking into a venue that would add another $1000 just to add chair covers. The chairs are already black, which in my opinion is a neutral color. Is this extra expense worth it?

I personally think chair covers look a little dated. I would just leave the chairs as-is!

I am not a fan of chair covers. Unless the chairs clashes with your decoration I don't see a reason why cover them. You can rent chairs if they bother you.

    Save your money. Use

sashes if you must decorate . Or just on the wedding party. Once everyone sits down, guess what. No one sees.

I think Chiavari chairs look the best, but if those are outside your budget then I would just leave the chairs as is! I agree that chair covers look a little dated and cheesy, and your guests would rather have good food and drinks!

I think if the chairs are in good condition they are not needed

If you have the extra to spend why not. But chair covers are one of those things they say your guest never really notice anyway.

Skip them. If you have another $1k to spend, get another appetizer or add something to the bar!

Helllll no! They look like grandma's house and are uncomfortable to sit on. If I had the power I would vaporize them all instantly. It is my personal opinion that no chair is ever uglier than a covered chair.

I think chair covers are hideous.

Do you have a pic of the chairs?

ETA: How many chairs do you need? We are paying $4 per chair for chiavari chairs. I'd go this route.

I'd definitely skip the covers and use the money towards something more useful

How many chairs? Where I'm at you can find Chiavari chairs for $5-8 per chair which would look nicer. Before renting ask the vendor to see the chairs on the truck tho. The ones in their showroom will always look nicer/less banged up. I personally hate chair covers.

I hate chair covers!!! Very uncomfortable & I think it's a thing in the past. Don't worry about chair covers, use that money towards something else important

We had the stretchable type (ivory to match the linens) and I think they looked great. While the tops of the banquet chairs were okay, I didn't like the look of the gold, chair legs. I've never sat on a chiavari chair that didn't make my bottom feel numb - it was almost as though I was sitting on a slab of stone. Is all this "HATE" necessary?

I skipped the chair covers and I had red chairs with the bridesmaids wearing ice blue. No one cared or even noticed and actually the red chairs have a cushion that was very comfortable. The closer I got to the wedding I said who cares and everything was still perfect.

My options were chiavari chairs or custom made chair covers due to the red chairs having a larger cushion than most chairs. both extra money and not worth it in the end.
