Chair covers, yes or no?

I am looking into a venue that would add another $1000 just to add chair covers. The chairs are already black, which in my opinion is a neutral color. Is this extra expense worth it?

I like chair covers but I'm having like max 40 people so for me it isn't a huge expense. I don't think chair covers are worth an extra $1000.

I personally don't like the look of chair covers, but if I had to choose, I would choose the stretchy ones that @Dreamer posted.

I feel like with chair covers, not only do they look dated, but you cannot really put your purse under the chair, nor can you put your feet slightly under the chair because of the material blocking you.

We are actually paying about $1000 to rent about 150 chiavari chairs. I've sat in them throughout weddings and I din't find them uncomfortable at all. Our coordinator recommended them over the Martha chairs because the Martha chairs are actually a couple inches lower than the chiavari chairs.

I'm not a fan of chair covers at all. They definitely aren't worth 1000. Save your money

I hate how chair covers look. I would skip them.

I would recommend skipping them. In my opinion, I don't think they help in even the worst of situations.

I don't think so and I also think chair covers don't look good.

Nah. Don't do the chair covers. I had a similar dilemma, opted not to do anything to the chairs. I'm 100% happy with that decision.

We originally wanted them, then didn't have the money, but the venue accidentally did them anyway. To be honest, they really added a level of elegance to the room. But they were a kind of ugly grayish purple color without them.

Save your money and put it towards something else at the end of the day the guests aren't going to care what their chair looked like

I hated my venues chairs ( blue banquet chairs with silver legs ) - they totally clash with my theme. And I've ALWAYS HATED chair covers.

Spandex tight fitting chair covers in matching ivory are normally 4.50 a chair. But for my off-season wedding, they're free. To rent the gold Chiavari chairs, which honestly fit my vision best, brings my chair budget from $0 to $1000+.

Free chair covers it is! No one will notice and for $1000, I can almost get that videographer I have been pining for.

Or venue has really bad plastic folding chairs so it was either rent decent ones for around $500 or buy/rent chair covers. I ended up buying them for $1 each. I'm not really a fan of them but man those chairs are awful.

Not worth it honestly. A chair is a chair. Use the money to upgrade something else like food, bar, cake, or just save it!

I would not spend the extra $ to cover a neutral/black chair...

I think there are better ways to spend $1000!
