champagne fountains

MARCELLA, on August 19, 2013 at 2:42 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 9

Do you guys think that buying a champagne fountain is cheaper than renting one. Pros and cons. Rents for 300.00 for 2-3 hours

Con: if anyone is germ conscious they will be freaked out. Hopefully it is an adults only reception otherwise I would count on children sticking their hands in it.

Wait...why $300? I called about renting one and it was $45 for the day.

Yes the champagne fountain is only for adults... lol. I think its cool though but I guess if they are germ conscious they can opt out theirs still a cash bar.

Ok but do you have to supply your own champagne.

I wouldn't do it. You have to supply your own champagne, it's gross, germ wise, and it kills the champagne; it'll be flat in a heartbeat. It's also a little bit dated. No, make that a lot dated.

Have your venue pass trays of champagne. Cheaper, cleaner, newer, more bubbly.

Ditto to what Celia said. Flat champagne would be awful and a waste of money. I didn't realize they had these things.

Have trays of champagne flutes passed and maybe do a chocolate fountain instead with strawberries so guests can DIY fondue strawberries to go with their champagne. That way the kids can have some too! I'm too much of a germophobe to do that though.

Ditto to Celia. I'm just thinking of someone sneezing in that direction. Ugh! It's more elegant having it served.

Don't do the chocolate fountain either. They're a mess, but DO chocolate dipped berries.

Just for the record, 300.00 is about two cases of decent sparkling wine!
