Champagne greeting for guests ?

Selina, on April 19, 2019 at 12:35 AM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 20
I’ve seen in some wedding packages the option to have the guests receive champagne upon arrival. I think this is a very nice touch and our wedding will be later on in the day (4:00-4:30-ish) Is anyone else doing this? Also is anyone providing maybe something else to greet guests with ? (My family does enjoy drinking lol)

I like the idea of the champagne upon arrival. My venue has butler passed signature drinks on arrival. We still have to figure out what that will be, but I think it's a nice welcome. It reminds me of when you go to a fancy resort. They usually have champagne or something handed to you upon arrival.

Maybe a small glass or only 1/2 glass for fanciness but not buzzedness? We had hot tea avail but apparently our 15 guests sat at the bar and enjoyed 1-2 drinks before our ceremony (a few folks even drank during the day). My dad has diabetes and probably didn’t eat much lunch and almost passed out after our ceremony (the bartender saved the day with OJ). Happily no other issues but I’m not sure I’d suggest alcohol before the ceremony. Hot tea or chocolate if cold weather, maybe refreshing water and a lemonade if warm weather?

We greeted people with water, lemonade, or sparkling rosé before our ceremony. The winery we got married at greets every single guest with a glass of bubbly so we wanted to continue that at our wedding. Our ceremony was at 4pm.

Yes for fanciness ! It would just be one glass handed to them when they arrive and then they would sit so no one would even be buzzed. The lemonade is a good refreshing idea to offer as another option with it!

In December, our guests will be offered hot coffee or hot tea if an outside ceremony. If inside, sure they can have a glass of champagne before the ceremony. Lol!

We are having our bar open right away and guests can go snag a drink before the ceremony. Personally, I think it is always a nice touch to welcome them in.

My venue includes this and the champagne theyll be serving is delicious. I can't wait for our guests to walk into the reception space with a staff member standing there dressed nicely waiting to hand them a glass of champagne. Very fancy lol.

We had sangria, water, and lemonade served before the ceremony. We got married on the beach so sangria made more sense than champagne for us.

Our venue offered complimentary champagne upon arrival which I thought was really nice, but then they said if we didn’t do it upon arrival, they’d give us a complimentary champagne toast during the reception instead. I felt like having it at the reception would be a waaay better use of the free champagne, especially because our ceremony starts at noon so I am sure some people would have it before if it was offered, but many more would take advantage for the toast at the reception.

I do think it’s very nice if your venue is including it (especially since your ceremony is later in the day than mine) but I wouldn’t pay any extra for it. I feel like it’s one of those things that guests will appreciate if it’s there, but it won’t be missed if it’s not there.

I'm contemplating on this idea too. it gives a fancy vibe to it especially my cocktail hour will be at an art gallery.

i do have open bar right when guest arrive. our venue offers champagne for toasting time but I'm thinking of asking them to do it upon arrival instead and people will just toast it with whatever drink they have on hand during dinner(I'm sure everyone already hit up the bar before even sit down) but FH doesn't like that idea, he want ppl to take advantage of the bar LOL

I was wondering if my venue will let me do a half glass instead of a whole glass that way it will cost me $300 instead of $600
