Champagne or wine

Carrie, on February 25, 2020 at 3:32 PM Posted in Honeymoon 0 13
My FH and I are not champagne or wine people, however I would like to have some kind of drink back at the hotel for us after our reception just for him and I to celebrate. Any suggestions?

Maybe try a cider instead if you’re not into champagne or wine

If it's just for the two of you, and you don't like either wine or champagne, I'd pick something else. Are there alcoholic beverages you do enjoy? If so, that's what I'd go with. But if you don't drink and/or don't like any alcoholic beverages, I'd skip them and just stock up on whatever you enjoy drinking.

I would recommend Prosecco. Prosecco is Italy's version of Champagne. It is cheaper and typically a little sweeter. Most people like it better if they aren't into dry wines. I am a big wine drinker and my FH is not and this is what we use to celebrate big occasions.

Messina Hof has a sparkling almond dessert wine that is AMAZING! They're based in Texas but I'm sure you could order a bottle?

Champagne is festive so I'd buy that! Sparkling wine is sweeter so if you aren't into the taste of wine/champagne that might be a good option too.

Prosecco is delicious, I drink that over champagne. There are dry or sweet kinds, depending on your taste. A sparkling rose can be really good too, it’s a bit sweeter (and pink!). I would ask a sommelier at a liquor store to recommend a bottle based on your tastes.

I think it depends on your personal preference. Are you both more wine drinkers or champagne?

I love champagne with strawberries (always something romantic about that image), but rarely go out and buy champagne.

Personally I love wine, so wine would always win this debate. Smiley smile

I would get whatever you two like to celebrate. If you're beer drinkers get that, If you like the same liquor - go with that. No one is going to know how you two celebrated alone. Smiley smile
