I'm sure there is. I'm getting my cake from a small town bakery in the middle of Illinois, and they offer cakes like this (we didn't opt for it, but it is an option) so certainly you can find someone in NYC.
@Laura...I don't think its so much upside down but more of a trick to make it appear upside down...looks like it is suspended from the ceiling and each tier is most likely on a platform, but because the tiers start with the smallest on the bottom it LOOKS as thought it is upside down
That's pretty awesome. I don't usually go for the "fake cake" thing, but I would for this style of cake. It would be lighter and easier to "cut" if it was 95% Styrofoam. Just have it made where the bottom layer is actual cake so you guys can cut it and stuff. Serve sheet cake from the back. That way it's not too stressful to cut and serve.
That cake is amazing! But I'm sure you can call some bakeries especially since you are in NYC. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny for that tho if you do find one
@Hannah, yes. I LOVE cake. And I know I'm being picky, but if it could be like this AND Dominican cake as well, I won't even ask for a honeymoon. LoL... Thanks ladies, guess I gotta look
Not sure if you have already checked with your venue, but they are extremely heavy and will need to be supported somehow. I would make sure they can handle that somehow first if you haven't.
