Change of Plans! Flower Advice

Amanda, on December 8, 2020 at 3:45 PM Posted in Style and Décor 0 8

Hello All! COVID has changed our whole wedding plan. We are now going with 15 guests, which is bridal party and our 3 sets of parents. Since we are cutting these out that we no longer need I have extra funds to use for a real bouquet. I have bouquets made from sola wood flowers (I believe I included them in an earlier post). For the ceremony, I am still having the wedding party walk down the aisle in their dresses but they will sit in the front rows instead of standing with us. Should I also get them bouquets? or use the ones I made? Or I even thought about just doing corsages since the event is now so small. My FH doesn't really care about a boutonniere. I know he's going to talk the jacket off right away anyways so they aren't going to have those.

If you already have the sola wood flowers for the bridesmaids, I’d let them use those and get a real bouquet for you. I’d still get a boutonnière for your groom - that way he has on something that distinguishes him from other people in the wedding party and it will complement your bouquet. I downsized to a smaller wedding too, but I decided I wasn’t going to cheat myself and am adamant about having the wedding experience I want. Smaller doesn’t mean you can’t have what you want - even if it doesn’t make sense to anyone else. 😊

Real vs wood is personal preference. Give them a bouquet to hold so they have something to do with their hands.

Women can walk down an aisle without holding anything, just like men can. Smiley smile Get your bridesmaids bouquets if you want to, but I don't think they are necessary.

For yourself, use the sola wood if you love it, or buy a fresh flower bouquet. It totally comes down to your preference. There are no wrong answers.

All of that said, my personal presence would be to have all real flowers or all fake flowers, not a mix.

If you already made some sola wood flowers then I would use them so they won't go to waste!

I would use the Sola flowers you have already made. Use real for you & your groom.

With cutting down on a guest list and other expenses, do what you really desire! Just because it is smaller, does not mean it has to be smaller in decor Smiley smile

Omg your wedding sounds exactly like ours! first let me tell you its about to turn out so much better than you dreamed. We just preordered loose real flowers. 2 dozen roses= $8.99 and bundles of eucalyptus =$6.99 got a few bunches of each from a wholesale flower place. I made my bridesmaid's bouquets from these loose flowers and purchased a bouquet for myself. but it seems you already have their wood flowers. use those for them. if you have a little extra money for a bouquet i would say this is your day, do it. but if not use a wood flower bouquet as well. so popular right now.
