Changing Name in College

So I’m getting married next April and I will have one semester left of college before completing my undergraduate degree. I also work for the college. I’m already planning on changing my name, but my question is do I need to inform the college of my new name and get it printed on my diploma or does it really matter?

You don’t HAVE to, but if you’re changing your name you may as well. It’s usually pretty easy to change your name with schools and employers, its drivers license and social security that’s a pain.

I was in my last semester of grad school when we got married. The whole reason I wanted to get married before graduation was so my new name would be on my license and inwould
have to go through the hassle of changing it then. (which I heard was hard)
the name change with the university was easy, fill
out a form and hand in a copy of the marriage license. I did it all online!!
I don’t know if you have to, but if you’re changing your name I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to. But, thats just me.

Thanks! I want to, I’ve just heard that it’s a pain from some friends and I shouldn’t bother. But I’ll look into it and hopefully it will be that easy!
