If you are traveling while in the process of changing your name, can you bring your old unexpired ID to the airport with your original name?

Yes, as long as it matches the name on your airline ticket.

You have to continue using the your old ID's until you finalize your name change. I hope you booked your flights under your maiden name. They have to match in order to get on the flight.
