Changing wedding band after 5 years of marriage.

Charlene, on July 15, 2020 at 8:51 PM Posted in Married Life 0 16
Hey brides! So by the time my wedding date hits, my husband and I will have been married for 5 and a half years. As a anniversary gift (which is in march) he will upgrade the diamond on my ring pictured below, my question is, is it wrong that I want to change my wedding banf or get a new one? When we first got married I wanted a ring to match his so I chose my current one, but now I'm thinking I want a smaller band. My husband is ok with it, what do u guys think.Changing wedding band after 5 years of marriage. 1

I think if you can afford it and you want it, there is nothing wrong with changing your wedding band, especially if you're upgrading your engagement ring. You can always get something that matches more closely with the new engagement setting.

Thank you, the great thing about my set is Jared has a full value by back plan with their diamonds as long as u double the original price. Its definitely something I'm considering plus I'm upgrading his as a anniversary gift as well.

Nothing wrong with that at all. If your finances allow, "upgrading" is totally normal. Upgrading your engagement ring typically calls for an upgraded wedding band, so they kind of go hand-in-hand. I have two rings that I alternate between. One is huge and I almost can't wear it (I keep it on probably 10% of the time, but I love it and will keep it because it was the first set he bought me). He purchased another because the original one just isn't practical and is really only good for dressing up, especially because I'm a nurse. I swap them out depending upon my schedule, occasion, mood, etc. Style, preference, occasion, etc. change daily and every bride is bound to change hers eventually. You really could even keep your original to wear on your right hand (my mother did this and upgraded to a huge set) if it makes you feel better because then you'll have your original and an upgraded set. If you want to do it and hubby is okay with it, then do it! Congrats on your upcoming anniversary. Such an accomplishment!!! Wishing you guys the best of luck ❤️

I don’t think it’s wrong at all I’ve heard a lot of couples doing this. If you find one that fits your ring better I say for it !

I used to work at a jewelry store and anniversary upgrades and changes are pretty common! Go for it if that’s what you want to do =)

If there's a different style you'd prefer to wear as your wedding band, I say go for it! You're the one who wears it all day and has the best idea of it the band is still practical or what you want to wear. Smiley shame Especially if that works out easily with the store's buy-back policy!
