Changing your name

I haven't tried it but several other women on this platform have said it's a waste of money because one still has to do the majority of the paperwork.

When I changed my name, there were exactly 3 forms to fill out: SS, passport, and DMV. Everywhere else was fine with just a scanned copy of my marriage certificate and new driver's license in an email. Hitchswitch will charge you for the privilege of mailing you the free forms that they've pre-entered basic information on (name, address) and some envelopes. I really don't see it as worth the money. They also send you a list of all the places people typically need to change their names I believe, but you can also find similar lists online, for free.

Huge waste of money. Why pay someone else to send you forms that you can get for free online?

I used Hitchswitch and I thought it was great. I put a Hitchswitch giftcard on our registry and someone gifted it to me. I thought it made the whole process super easy because I just didn't feel like hassling with the paperwork myself.
