Chapel Dulcinea questions

Bethany, on October 26, 2019 at 12:41 PM Posted in Texas Planning 1 9
Hi everyone,

I’m getting married at Chapel Dulcinea in Austin TX. I’m excited and it’s fast approaching, I just had a few questions. Since there’s no rehearsal did your ceremony still go alright? I’m not going to hire a band so did anyone else do alright playing the music throw speakers? Any information about your ceremony at the chapel would be so appreciated!

thank you!

We are rehearsing somewhere else and my pastor said sometimes he even just talks it through with the party at rehearsal dinner.

I think as long as your party knows where to be when and who they're walking with you're fine.

I would suggest telling the guys to make sure they're like...similar distances apart and turned at the same angle. My friends coordinator recently was...not great. It still worked out okay but like when the photographer went to take photos he had to tell the guys stuff like that and the girls just pretty much did it automatically.

We are doing the speaker thing as well, and so did she, dj is better cause they know music and can respond to the crowd and customize as well as keeping things on schedule...but it is still an extra. You'll be fine with a friend if they have your playlist and know when to do things.

    Hey Bethany!

    Welcome to the WeddingWire community!

Have you thought about doing a trail run of your ceremony running order just to ensure that everyone is on the same page about what will happen? This could be especially helpful if there are children in your wedding party, i.e. flower girls or ring bearers.

Will you have a DJ playing your music through the speaker system, or are you DIYing the music?

We were planning on doing it ourselves. But I don’t know the best way to do that and have it go smoothly

I am interested in knowing about the speaker as well. I will be getting married there in December and will be playing the music through a speaker. Our plan is to have a family member control the music which will only be one song (the song I walk down the aisle to). Our officiant who has done wedding here before said the speaker works out just fine and even offer us her speaker.

So my photographer is renting us a speaker. We just have to find which guest can be responsible. Because we have a couple songs for when people come in, the song for the party to walk into, the song I walk into, and then the song that starts when we are pronounced husband and wife. I just have to figure out how to cut one song to the chorus and then we will put it all in a playlist for someone to start and stop.

I am getting married there next May. They offer open touring time from 12 to 1 I believe during the week. We went just to see everything and a get feel for it. Maybe take that time and do a quick run down. There was NO ONE there when we went I was shocked! We will also be renting a speaker and are creating a spotify ceremony list and having a family member que the music. I have heard reception can be spotty so to make sure any music is available offline.
