Cheap digital camera v. disposable

Mary, on June 14, 2014 at 12:44 AM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 4

I love the idea of having photo props and some cameras to give the guests something fun to do during the cocktail hour. I was going to get disposable cameras, but I've read online the pictures turn out horrible, plus you have to go and get them developed, and they are hella expensive. so i thought, why not get a couple of cheap digital cameras? you know you can find them on ebay for like $10 now? I just got a reasonably decent one! But now I'm wondering what if someone picks it up off the picture table and pockets it? Not necessarily on purpose, maybe a drunken guest, or a sticky fingerd waiter? Is this a crazy concern? Has anyone done this before?

Honestly, I wouldn't bother. Everyone has smart phones now or their own digital cameras. It's better to use a photo sharing app such as wedpics.

I agree with Emily, most people will.probably just.use their phone. Save the money and pit.it toward something else.

Last time I saw disposable cameras at a wedding was 5 years ago I think. It was a cute idea, but after the wedding nothing ever came of the pictures. No one posted them anywhere or shared them in any way, so that was kind of a disappointment!

Go with instagram--Make a sign and ask them to use your hashtag! Although I saw an idea for using a Polaroid ($60 at Target) for an instant Photo Booth (at the Ceremony) as guests enter and would normally just sign the guest book they can have a pic snapped, sign it, and it goes immediately into the book.
