Cheap good fake flowers?

Brittany, on September 20, 2016 at 1:10 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 46

Does anyone know any places that have cheap fake flowers that look decent? I found a bunch from Amazon for really cheap but they are from China and I'm afraid of what they will look like so I need a website that sells them cheap but look decent!

I would definitely do some searches on Etsy.com. I personally am planning on making paper flowers, but I always see great stuff on there!

Good fake flowers aren't typically cheap.

You can get them on sale at stores like Michael's and Pat Catan's (craft stores) and try to buy them a few at a time when you have coupons. But anything "cheap" isn't going to look quality.

So such thing. The color will be weird, the shape and drape will be unnatural.

I got my bouquets from budget-bride.com. I got 7 bouquets for about $400, but there are cheaper (and more expensive) packages you can get. They also make centerpieces, but I don't know their prices for those. You can also buy samples for $25 each so you can see what a bouquet would look like and the kind of quality you're getting before you actually purchase a whole package.

I'm not sure why brides-to-be think fake stems are a money saver -- typically, they are more expensive than their live counterparts (with a few exceptions). If you're going to go with faux stems, I wouldn't advocate buying them based on pictures on the internet. You really need to examine a stem from all angles and be able to hold it in your hands in order to judge its quality.

As LindseyO said, anything cheap is going to look cheap. I would suggest Hobby Lobby. They have a good selection, and every other week the silks are 50% off (that will save you a lot of money). Another hint is to stay away from flowers that don't really exist -- things like blue calla lilies and blue roses.

I wanted to order fakes online too but ended up going to local craft stores. You really can't tell exactly what they look like online (I was very particular) and even on sale they were overall more expensive than my real flowers. I didn't realize how expensive they would be, but you pay for quality and realism. However, the arrangements I made with them were amazing, no one could tell they were fakes, and they will last forever! The cheapest, decent quality flowers are all online but it's a gamble since you don't really know what you're getting.

It requires a ton of research but it can be done. I would take a few trips to local craft stores to see if its something your really want to do before plunging into it

Michaels & Hobby Lobby have some truly nice/real looking fake flowers and they almost always have coupons or sales. I find that darker flowers tend to look more real than lighter colored fake flowers. I got my bouquet and my bridesmaids' bouquets at Michaels, mine was $30 (many bouquets and flowers that will be pieced together) and my BMs were $7 each after the 40% off coupon.

Saveoncrafts.com I am using sola flowers. They are made from. The tapioca plant! Here is the belt I made using it. But they are pliable so the possibilities are endless. Also it was around 65$ for over 250 flowers

Hobby lobby has their floral stems half off at least once a month. They have really nice real touch flowers.

Go to a craft store where you can actually see them. Sign up for their email list and you will get tons of coupons. Start early and buy with coupons and when on sale. If you doubt your bouquet making chops, there are many Etsy sellers who make gorgeous silk or paper bouquets. I personally liked Lily of Angeles. But if you just do a search there for bridal bouquets you will see a ton.

Look on Pinterest for that and I want to say that when they say touchable those are the better quality rather than looking like pieces of plastic and depending on what you want they're not always cheaper

I went to Michaels. They always have coupons. I bought all of mine when the Spring flowers went on sale. For all the flowers( bouquets, centerpieces, and boutonnières), wire, tape, and ribbon I spent $400 total.

Go to hobby lobby and ask when will they have a sale on them. They are pretty nice and don't have to wait on shipping. When I did it last March to get enough supplies to make 10 boutonnieres and 5 bouquets it cost me about $100. And I made extra boutonnieres and bouquets in case any one for gotten or just fall apart.
