Cheap Magnet Save the Dates?

Chantelle, on July 22, 2020 at 2:51 PM Posted in Do It Yourself 0 15
I’m realizing that most guests probably don’t care about the save the dates. I see my own friends leave/forget/misplace them as soon as they’re given lol. However I would still like to do them for cheap. I’m thinking I want good quality smallish/medium magnets, but light enough to be regular postage? Could I do DIY the save the date design and get them printed on magnet? Stores like where? Staples? Kinkos?

I'm not sure what you consider "cheap" and how many you need, but we did STD postcards and with postage for our 50ish guest count it came to $40

Definitely cost out the magnets, and look on sites like Zazzle, they make quality products inexpensive including magnets.

Vistaprint is great and they have sales all the time. Office Max/Staples will cost you more for them to print.

I got mine on anns bridal bargains. I put some bubble wrap in there so they wouldn’t stick to each other/the metal mailbox. They were just light enough to only need one stamp.

We just ordered ours from Zazzle after seeing examples of other brides’ on here. I liked that you could completely design them from scratch to make them exactly what you want. Ours haven’t arrived yet, but the ones I’ve seen from other people have turned out great!

We designed our own save the dates then uploaded the design to VistaPrint. VistaPrint was very easy to use. They were very nice quality and arrived super quickly.

OK, seeing other people’s prices, I am going to say Zazzle may not be the best suggestion if you were looking for cheap. As a matter fact, now I’m thinking I got ripped off! LOL

Cheap Magnet Save the Dates? 1
I got 9 samples from MagnetStreet for $11 after shipping. I was super impressed with the quality for having paid $1 for each. Use the code FRIENDS for the discount though! I’ll be passing out nice magnets to my close family and then the postcard version for everyone else... because yes, people do misplace them. I found that one of the black magnets (for some reason) has a slight peeling issue... but honestly, they’re so elegant I don’t think anyone will realize.

We got ours from Truly Engaging by Magnet Street. I highly recommend them! They do 75% off sales all the time, so we ended up spending $73 on 100 + envelopes with the return address pre-printed. They have a feature where they'll print 1 of your design so you can look at it and see if you like it before you print all of them. They also have great customer service! We didn't take advantage of the print 1 option, so when we got all 100 of them, the picture was too dark. They reprinted and shipped them to us for free after I contacted them about it! Highly, highly recommend them!

We got ours on Vistaprint. They were very reasonably priced, good quality, and were light enough that we used a regular Forever stamp when we sent them out (we even put a small piece of cardstock in the envelope to help keep the magnet from sticking to any metal mailboxes).

Curious but did your guests know they were magnets or did you need to attach them to a card with an explanatory note?

We used Simply to Impress and were very, well, impressed! The are reasonably priced but often have coupon specials to help as well. We got 60 save the date magnets for $58.

Shutterfly and minted have magnets. I was leaning towards magnets but went with the regular save the dates. For 22 of them for 50 guests it was 60 bucks I believe with shipping and pre addressed envelopes.
