Cheap reception/ceremony for under 50 people?

Becky, on October 23, 2018 at 9:09 AM Posted in Florida Planning 0 1

Hi all,

I’ve been engage for 8 months now. Fiancé and I just bought a house so I’ve been behind on the wedding planning. We want a small wedding in November 2019 for 30 people. I’m having difficulty finding a reception and ceremony that after all the expesnses such as food, dj, florals, photography, tableware, chairs, it’ll all amount to about 10-14k. I just think that’s insane for 30 people! I’d be willing to spend 8,000 max but of course I want all of that included plus my dress. I’d also be willing to do one of those ceremonies that you book online where it’s all done for you and just hire a photographer that I love yet the reception is where I’m having an issue. Florida brides please help! I was looking in Orlando, Clearwater area, & even thought about a wedding in Charleston, SC. Is this unrealistic nowadays??

Hey Becky! Welcome to the WeddingWire community!! Smiley ring

I don't think what you're looking for is unrealistic, but it might be a bit more on the difficult side. As far as ceremony and reception places, national and state parks and local community halls tend to be more cost effective, as well as maybe small hotel conference rooms. You might have to provide some of the decorations and such, but it'll keep you under budget. If you haven't already looked into those options, I would say start there and see what turns up.

If I were you - which I'm not, so you do you - I would look into a destination wedding planning service, a couple of which you might be able to find on the WeddingWire vendor directory. I think you're in the right area with a proper amount of guests that, even if you are local, this might be the answer to what you're looking for.
