Cheap rehearsal dinner options near ATKINSON, NH

Desiree, on January 4, 2013 at 11:10 AM Posted in Planning 0 4

Hi all!

My fiance and I are getting married May 2014 at the Atkinson Country Club in Atkinson, NH. It's a beautiful venue, but the problem is we can't afford to hold our rehearsal dinner AND wedding there. Atkinson is a beautiful town, but is really small and there aren't a lot of options. Plaistow, a larger town, is nearby, so we were looking for options here.

We will have 40-50 guests and were originally planning to do a simple barbecue at a local park, but I can't find any that could accommodate that sort of get-together. I'm open to other nontraditional ideas, as long as it's inexpensive and close to the venue. Thoughts? Thanks so much!!

I had the people that needed to come to my rehersal back to my SIL's house for pizza, salad, and drinks. There were 19 in total with dates of WP. and each of our parents.

You don't need to have anyone there that doesnt have to be that the rehersal. I looked at it like if I was in a play and had the dress rehersal and a cast party. Cast only! and one date each

Welcome to the WeddingWire Community @Desiree C.

I definitely encourage you to try getting 'recommended' vendors right here within your account on WeddingWire! Even though you already have your venue picked out you can still search for a venue for your rehearsal dinner! Smiley smile

Based on your answers to a few questions (budget, number of people, location, etc.), the system will automatically populate a list of possibilities that will fit your needs.

    To start:

-Go to 'My Wedding' and click 'My Vendors'

    -Click the 'Recommended Vendors' tab

This should help you get a better idea of what's out there for you to choose from!

Also, don't forget that you can search directly from our homepage at www.weddingwire.com for 'Ceremony & Reception Venue' vendors in your area.

    Good luck!!

Thanks for your thoughts, WasSoon2bMrsSmith! The problem is the venue isn't close to any friends and family's homes. We don't want people to have to drive back and forth long distances. This has been a challenge. We are considering simple pizza and/or bowling venues at this point. Could be fun!

I am not from the area (I am in Nashua/Merrimack area) but since it is so close to the boarder you may have to drive into Haverhill, MA to find a few places or Hampstead, NH might be better options.

I usually use Yelp to check the area and read reviews, then call the place to see if they can accommodate your guests.
