Cheap Rings!

yanella, on February 16, 2018 at 5:47 PM Posted in Wedding Attire 0 11

HI HI !

I'm writing because I recently got engaged and we decided to get married in 4 months on a very low budget ($3,000) in NYC, CRAZY right?!?!?! Well , I was stressing about where to buy his band, my engagement ring (my original is a $15 Vegas find we used in the meantime haha) and my band. Our goal for the rings was $150, now we are a very untraditional, pool playing, bbq loving, hip couple so I discovered this page that pleased us both, I found all 3 rings for $90 TOTAL with the sale they have right now :

https://modgents.com/

THOUGHT IT COULD HELP SOMEONE ON A BUDGET AS MINE !

I got ours from Amazon. My FH works construction so I wanted something that was easily replaceable if he messed it up at work or took it off for messier jobs and lost it. And I just wanted something simple. They were about $20 each and very much our usual style

My engagement ring was less than $200. My FH won’t tell me how much my wedding ring costs which means it was probably VERY expensive. I bought him 2 bands off amazon and they were both inder $40, i bought two because he’s a fire truck mechanic in the Air Force and the second one is a back up

It's awesome that there are so many options and people can find things that are both affordable and beautiful.

One thing to consider for some mens rings....

Rings that are super hard like tungsten cannot be cut off in an emergency. They are so beautiful, but please be careful.

I ordered from modgents and everything turned out fine shipping wise and everything! I think we got everything for $40. (We just bought wedding bands) We are very similar to your style as a couple. We can't tell you how they wear because we haven't wore them yet long term but we are ok with taking the chance and if it sucks we will move on to something a little more expensive. Also, we are getting a silcone ring for my fiance because he works with his hands.

We decided to go with really inexpensive rings for the wedding too. After the wedding, when we can afford it, we have a jeweler selected on Etsy who has already agreed to the design I’ve drawn out and quoted us a price. It’s a great price for what I designed — we just can’t do it before the wedding. And I’m a hardcore activist and only will accept lab-created stones/metal because I don’t want anyone’s blood on my hands. Literally. And after telling him about blood gems and metals, my fiancé came to the same decision. Plus, we’re aging hipsters putting money away for a down payment on the house we live in... we don’t need expensive jewelry or a pricey wedding. Our wedding budget is about on par with yours, Yanella. It’ll be fun and beautiful, mainly because I’m fortunate enough to be an artist who can make a lot of the decor and has some creative ideas for sourcing materials. Plus he’s a chef and I’m an excellent vegan home cook so we’re catering our intimate fête. I’m going to be able to do 3 wardrobe changes for a total of $170 (I found a less expensive alternative for dress #3 today and my fiancé LOVES it). So all that to say I applaud you and am with you on low-cost jewelry! I’m so glad to know I’m not alone in that area. All others I’m fine flying solo, but I thought we might be really dumb and tacky cheapskates for going the route we are with the rings. I’m sure his family will judge but I don’t care. I just want them to buy us awesome stuff from our registry. Hee hee.

Actually tungsten is highly scratch resistant but can crack or break by just dropping it on a hard surface. It can be cut off as easily as gold or silver, but won't bend like gold and silver which can do severe damage before it will break. So for people in the trades its actually safer then most other metals

I think rings are an investment. You should get a nice ring that last forever, because that is the rings that you say your vows with. Accidents happen but we picked Forever rings that we can have for our whole marriage
