Cheap things to put in tote bags for bridesmaid gift

FutureMrs.Girlinghouse, on April 6, 2010 at 5:15 PM Posted in Planning 2 30

I bought tote bags for my girls and would really like to hear what others have put inside them for their girls (if anything-if you think its ok to not put anything please let me know that too!!). I have a cute little compact mirror and was thinking about flip flops for after the ceremony in case their shoes are uncomfortable. Any more cheap ideas?

I did the lotion, body spray, flip-flops, a small mani-pedi set, their jewelry for the wedding, a loufa (sp?), a satin sleeping mask and a few other things i can't think of off the top of my head. I think it's a really cute idea and it's stuff for the most part they'll use over and over...

I bought personalized totes and put:

-a personalized t-shirt in our wedding colors with their names and "Bridesmaid" on them (I got them for like $9 from foreverwed.com)

-a spiral notebook I made on shutterfly that has pictures of me with each of my bridesmaid's on the cover (these aren't too expensive to do!)

-a can cozie i ordered from personalcreations.com that has our wedding date on it and characters of each person in the bridal party on them (really really cute and they only cost $7...check it out!)

-makeup bag with their initial on it and filled it with a personalized compact mirror, tissues (the ones with designs on them), makeup brushes, mascara, and lipgloss

Then I got wineglasses for the whole bridal party that are engraved with the date, their name, and a simple thank you (i got these pretty cheap from foreverwed.com)

I am doing a bunch of spa stuff since my bach party is a sleepover theme and I figured that would be fun to do. Like those cooling eye mask things, loofas, lotion, and manicure and pedicure stuff. I am also doing robes and flipflops as well as "day of kits" for them all. I am sure I will add more but thast what I have for now.

So far I've bought engraved compacts, body spray, lotion, and jewelry... I'm planning to add safety pins, bobby pins, and tide pens.

I didn't do tote bags, but in their gift bag I got flip flops that match their dresses, day of wedding jewelry, B&BW hand sanitizer in the wedding colors, and my mom is painting individual wine glasses for each of them in the wedding colors with their initials on them. Each bridesmaid bag is about $20 when I calculated everything.

Ohh I love the sanitizer idea. I am a sanitizer junkie (I know it kills good bactieria too but I cannot stop). And I love the idea of giving them sanitizer in the wedding colors!

That is what I'm planning to give my bridesmaids. Inside the totes I'm thinking a bottle of sparkling juice, mints, unique candies from a local gift shop, lip balm, homemade lotion bars or soap, travel size hairspray, and a small succulent. Some other great ideas are flip flops, a Groupon for a mani/pedi or massage, an emergency sewing kit, or a special flower/piece of jewelry for them to wear for your wedding!

These are the tote bags for my girls. I am going to out in robes for day of prep and pictures, I am also making personalized hangers for each of us to put I'm there, their bridesmaids gifts (bracelets) and a bottle of wine. Might also do a day of emergency kit to put in them as well. Looking for ideas similar to this for groomsmen... Any thoughts?

Making OTT bags are a great way to honor those guest who are coming from out of town to join in the celebration of your wedding. i helped my niece prepare a dozen of these types of bags. We used a company called www.totebagfactory.com to buy some really great reusable tote bags. They were very affordable, easy to work with, and the quality of the tote bags were great. Our out of town guest were so pleased, and we received tons of comments on how nice the tote bags were. I would diffidently use this company again, as they were quick to answer all our question that we had.

For us, filling the bag was easy. It was finding a quality tote bag at an affordable price. We were so impressed that we turned around and ordered more to fill for her bridesmaids as gifts. So with the two orders that we placed with the company we received a product and service that was 100% satisfactory.
