Cheap wedding venue New England

Javier, on October 12, 2017 at 12:06 AM Posted in Planning 0 15

Looking for a inexpensive wedding venue in the new England area, most preferably 1 hour to an hour and a half away from Boston but all suggestions are welcomed. Looking to have a winter wedding for 150 people for around 15k or under. The 15k would be for everything included like dj, photos, cake etc. I know many places have discounted wedding packages for winter. We loved harrington farm and tewksbury country club but think it may be too expensive. Were also looking at quidnessett country club in Rhode island and believe its within our price range but want to see what else is out there. Thanks!

All set with the photo. and thanks enchanted. well at quidnesset country club the food was about 40pp so that would be 6000 plus tax. It's hard to drop people from the guest list because the fiance has so much family lol

15K is going to be nearly impossible for 150 people. you need to allocate 1/2 of that amount to Venue food and drink. Even if you went with a venue that is only a per person charge without separate venue fee, that means you need to be paying 50$pp for food and beverages after tax and tip. Which is going to be difficult to maneuver. the remain 7,500 has to go to DJ/Florals, attire for both you and groom ETC. IT all adds up very quickly.

It isn't impossible - if you skip unnecessary costs like programs, favors ETC, maybe do silk flowers, and skip a videographer then it could work but it will take a lot of budgeting and be difficult

I hate to say it, but I consider my venue a steal, and we're spending 14k for 150 people for ceremony/reception/5 hour open bar. (Also includes shuttle, D.O.C. a bon fire, and a free room the night of the wedding- but the 14k is strictly the cost from plated meals and alcohol)

Check out Groveland Fairways in Groveland MA. They are very reasonable and amazing to work with!

I'm about 20 minutes north of boston, and unfortunately I don't think youre going to find everything for that price for that amount of guests at a country club, even in the winter. You could probably do it at a VFW type place but catering alone is gonna swallow up most of that money for 150, unless you find a casual bbq caterer, but inexpensive caterers around here are few and far between. I would rather cut the guest list than cheap out on a venue and vendors.

I had my wedding at an oceanfront ballroom type venue and food alone for 112 was more than that.

I'm getting married in Arlington at my church Highrock. I know it's not the most fabulous setting but if you're a nonmember having your ceremony and reception there is approximately $1600 and they can for 150 people

Boston bride here, having wedding in NH, went through the process recently and you may need at least 10k more to hist 150. Cut the guestlist or increase the budget. Good luck!

@Enchanted, there's def taxes in NH when it comes to weddings... 9%... so yeah, no savings there (meals and beverages). And most places automatically add 20% gratuity - which people should expect anyways.

That is not do-able. Cut the guest list.

The Lodge on Echo Lake, in Warrensburg NY- but it's worth mentioning that I had posted this last year and since then our venue has given us a lot of different information. The shuttles are not free, and you have a very limited amount of trips, and it is only beer (domestic) and wine for the open bar. They charge you $5 per seat for the ceremony, they charge for each chair cover for the reception, and although you can have the bon fire, you have to pay more to have marshmallows instead of just bringing your own. The amount we were quoted was also due to the fact that we're having a Sunday wedding, and our package doesn't include a seafood option.
