Cheaper alternatives to Pure Barre?

Rae, on May 18, 2017 at 2:50 PM Posted in Fitness and Health 0 15

Hi, everyone! It's my first post! Woot!

Anyways, I started Pure Barre before I got engaged, and I loved the classes and really wanted to stick with it. Now that I'm in the middle of budgeting for my wedding I'm realizing I'm going to have to cut it. The classes are pricey, even with some of the deals. I might be able to do a few classes here and there, but that's it.

These classes have been super helpful with toning and in general just feeling good about myself and my workouts (and I obviously want to keep up this fitness routine for the wedding next year), but it's just an extra thing that I could use the money from. :/

So, has anyone else tried or taken Pure Barre and know any great alternatives?

I've looked into the DVD's, are they as effective as the classes?

I think there's an online subscription program for less money. You stream the classes to your computer.

I also liked pure barre but stopped because I couldn't justify the price!

Do a groupon search in your area. I am sure there are not so corporate places to try. A college friend of mine is an instructor at energy barre.

It is becoming more popular so I think if you search your area you may find something.

I hate dvd work outs. I need a person next to me and for me to think they are judging me when I am slacking lol.

Some commercial gyms have barre like classes in the group X room. A LA FItness or Crunch Fitness gym membership is a lot cheaper than Barre.

Pure barre is on class pass...but you can only do 4 classes a month at the same studio, so you would have to add something in with it.

Not sire where you are--but I also love Barre3. LA fitness type gyms also have barre classes but aren't the same as pure barre. If you are driven to do it at home, the online subscription may work for you. personally I like to get out of the house for my workouts.

You could find a ballet class for about $20 a class at your local studio. My city has adult drop in classes. Also, our University and community College have classes that are open to the public that are cheaper. You'll get as good a workout as a barre class and you won't bugger your body with lousy technique.

Does your studio have the bride to be package? Its still expensive but, its 3 unlimited months so if you go frequently it works out to be a lot cheaper. I usually just stock up on the classes anytime there is a sale, which here is almost every holiday.

Thanks for the suggestions! There are a couple other local studios but they're unfortunately also pretty pricey.

There is a gym here that offers a barre class, so I might look into that depending on the gym cost.

Ugh, I'm obsessed with Pure Barre. I've been doing it for about three years and can't stop! It is definitely expensive and I've had to look for cheaper options. barre3 was a tad more affordable and so is BarMethod, I'll always prefer PB though.

I go to a local Y and they offer Pure-Barre-type classes as part of their regular offerings. also, try your local library for ballet workout DVDs...there's an old New York Ballet DVD that i used to borrow all the time and it was amazing though so freakin tough.

Honestly? Barre as your only workout is not going to give you results.

Join a gym with multiple class options and do barre once in a while.

Don't they have a Bride-to-Be package that is discounted? I also do PB, but found some great barre classes on YouTube! When I can't make it to class, I just watch those.
