Cheeeeeeap but gorgeous venues?

Apeal127, on February 5, 2020 at 3:55 PM Posted in Texas Planning 0 11
Hello everyone! Looking for low cost outdoor wedding venues with views. Ideally under $1200 (even though I don’t know if that exists anymore). I’m located in Corpus Christi Texas, but we’re 100% willing to travel to nearby states. The date is tentatively October but can be pushed back if we fall in love with a place that may be too cold. Obviously the beach is in our backyard but my FH isn’t set on a beach wedding. It’s hard to pick a dress and start planning without a venue so I need to pick quickly. About 75 guests are expected. Extra points for waterfront/forest/mountain like area.

Have you considered a hotel or venue that overlooks the water? Downtown? Parks?

I don’t love the idea of having it in a hotel, but I don’t mind having it in a park. I just haven’t found one that’s like, BOOM THATS THE ONE yet.

City parks usually have a lot of pavilions and facilities that they rent to residents for CHEAP so check on those, here's the link showing the specifics for each one and how to reserve it. https://register.ccparkandrec.com/Facilities.aspx?id=50

There are also beaches, cultural centers, rec centers etc that you can rent for events as well

Honestly, dream venue would be next to a lake with Mountain views. Unfortunately our budget says 99% of the time we can afford that. So we’re looking for the next best affordable thing.

I appreciate that! I think FH is pretty much set on not getting married in the city, and I’m alright with that. I can definitely check out similar options though if we find a city we do like! Thank you!

Ooooooh Colorado or LA would be the place lol. Could you do a destination wedding in maybe the Southwest nearby? I see your honey wants the city. Have you considered a rooftop place or a country club.

Colorado would be so ideal! Most of the places we’ve seen listed as venues though are so expensive 😭 he doesn’t necessarily want the city, he’d much rather be outside. We just want to find somewhere beautiful and affordable.

Are you trying to keep it local or destination? Where have you looked because I doubt North Carolina would be expensive and they have mountains. Have you considered looking in cabin type areas like Blue Ridge, GA? Check these sites out:

I do think you two can get what you want but the focus should be on what you two want not catering to a ton of people. I think the reception can break the bank. Maybe do a small destination wedding and then a larger reception at home or people have to travel for your day. It should be what you two want and not a full compromise.

Thank you!! I plan to check those out immediately. Half our family is in Illinois and the other half separated between north and south Texas so anywhere we choose will be destination for somebody, so we aren’t too worried about trying to keep it local. Thank you for the links!
