Ugh! Chicago bride here too! I honestly don’t know! I would make a choice about a month in advance, because so many things can change. It’s hard to know because we need to get into phases and we’re not even in phase 1. And phase 1 doesn’t involved restaurants or event places opening! Where are you having your wedding at!?

We’re at eagle ridge in Galena on August 30th! We’re not posting (as this is already our postponement date). But regardless are not changing the date. Personal opinion, I would see where were at in June!

You and I are in the same boat. My hubby is from Chicago but we are here in Texas! Congrats! So our wedding is 7/25/20 and I've been sharing the same concerns because our venue will not allow us to postpone the date. They say they are going by our State and government guidelines. I have missed many months of planning that's been needed. I mean everything is closed. I do have a wedding planner for the decorations and arranging the setup. With us missing a few income streams its difficult to plan properly. Anyone have suggestions?

Hi ladies! I am also a Chicago bride scheduled for July 25, 2020 (as of right now) and am wondering what you all are thinking! With the plan that Pritzker discussed yesterday what are the chances we’ll still be able to go on as planned?

Well I now have a backup date reserved for next May if I want it but what if it gets to that point and the state still isn’t open yet? Pritzker doesn’t want to allow gatherings of over 50 people until there’s a vaccine and who knows how long that could take? 😣

That’s an option we are considering as well! I am desperate to start a family soon and the last thing I want to do is postpone. I’m just wondering what a socially distanced wedding would even be like... and if we’ll even be allowed to have 50 at that point! What if we are still only allowed 10 people max?

I think maybe I’m stressing about this too much... 😭

July 18, 2020. Still holding out. With current plan from the Governor, phase 4 will begin 5/29, and will allow 50 ppl gathering. HOPEFULLY by 6/29 we will move to phase 5 - fully reopened.. (FINGERS CROSSED). I am planning a small wedding, max 75ppl. I am prepared to cut back to the 50 if necessary and can have a cookout or something later for others. I hate that the reopening plan includes 2 separate dates, one for 14-day monitoring of COVID cases and a 28-day monitoring of available medical and ICU beds and vents. That additional 2 weeks delays the progression through the phases. In IL there has not been any shortages of beds since the virus started, so maybe after this month he will consider dropping off the 28 day or making it all 14 days.

Yesss Ericka.. me too. We could move a lot faster through the phases if the governor hadn't implemented that additional 28-day metric. But at least there is a little glimmer of hope! 🤞🙏🏽

Yes. You're right. Jumped ahead too quickly. Wishful thinking I guess. When the Gov added the additional 28 day monitoring metric, that delayed progression to monthly basically at this time, where as with just the 14 day metric we would have potentially been progressing every 2 weeks and been at phase 5 the end of June... BUT he threw another wrench in that saying in phase 5 there needs to be a vaccine to fully reopen. (Sigh). I'm so over all this waiting and wondering. So stressful.
