Chicago vs. Nashville Bachelorette?

Malia, on October 4, 2021 at 3:34 AM Posted in Parties and Events 0 7
Hey, y’all! My bridesmaids are working on starting to plan my bachelorette trip and they want my input to help decide on the location, but I’ve never been to either city, so I have no idea! The top two locations they’re currently looking at are Chicago (1.5 hours from Notre Dame - where we go to college) and Nashville (6 hours). Any thoughts or recommendations on the different vibes between the two? We’d be going in May, so the weather will hopefully be beautiful both places!

I went to Chicago for a concert in May once and it was very cold (about 40s-50s) so I wouldn't bank on great weather in either place. May is hit or miss anymore so just keep that in mind.

I've been to Chicago many times because I have family there, and I went once for a bachelorette party. The bach party was fun there, but we could've done all the same things at home in Ohio. Pretty much we just did bar hopping the whole time. BUT, if you do the day time site seeing activities such as millennium park, navy pier, or the sky deck then I think it would definitely be worth it for you!

I've never been to Nashville, but my mom and brother both have. If you're into live music I think that would be the way to go. And I believe there are plenty of bars there. I've heard it is very popular for bachelorette parties!

    Hope this helps!

I can’t speak to Chicago, but I did one of my bachelorette parties in Nashville and it was awesome! We were there mid-September. I love live music, so it was so cool to visit so many places and see so many amazing artists. We also did a bike petal bar, which was so fun. Harder than I expected, but fun haha. I will say, the Friday night we went to the bars, it was incredibly crowded. Not the end of the world, but just a note. If you do go to Nashville, I’d be happy to send you the restaurants we ate at and places we shopped at. Defs some of the best food I’d had in a while!

Current Nashville resident here. May can be rainy and hot here or super nice, it’s definitely a gamble on weather. Downtown nashville is super touristy and you’ll be one of (literally) hundreds of bachelorette parties in town that weekend. Broadway is becoming more similar to Bourbon Street than a chill strip of local bars. Also, if you’re nervous about Covid at all, TN is one of the worst states in the nation regarding vaccinations.

I went to Nashville once for a girls weekend and it seemed like we were the only women out not on a bachelorette. As another poster said, there were hundreds of bachelorette parties and there seems to be a whole industry in Nashville dedicated to it. Not a problem, just a heads up. We had an absolute blast and it was a super fun place to go for a weekend.

I’ve never been to either but I will say I’ve known plenty of people that adore Nashville & so many of my friends plan to have their future bachelorettes there. I’ve heard it’s such a blast
