Children's Meal Options on Response Card

Elvira, on April 25, 2017 at 4:18 PM Posted in Planning 0 7

For our reception children get an option of chicken tenders and fries or the choice of the entrée that are being offered to adults. Should I list this on the response cards? Or just ask parents after they mail back their response cards? Do I prepare separate response cards for adults with children?

I just asked the parents what their child would prefer.

I put it on the response card to make it clear that their children were invited, in case the "and family" wasn't clear enough or they didn't notice.

I've had to contact a few responders for clarification, but really it's worked out well for my guests with children.

Might've been rude of me, but I picked for the kids that attended ours. Chicken tenders were free, or we could pay full price for a meal. 12 and older got the adult meal, 7 and younger got the kids meal (we didn't have anyone in between)

There was a choice of burger or chicken tenders for the rehearsal dinner. MIL just emailed the parents of our FGs and RBs to ask which they wanted

Include it on the RSVP card. If its a price difference, I would definitely do what @MrsSki did.

I had our invitation person print out a handful of enclosure cards to put in the invites of families with kids.

Mine was saying that the kids meal was chicken fingers and fries and to please list any dietary restrictions for their kids on the back of their RSVPs card.

You could do something similar explaining their choices. Like..you could put all 3 options on the RSVP with a note letting them know that the kids can choose any of the 3. OR you could just put the adult entrees on the RSVP and add a note saying that the kids have the choice of a kids meal or the adult entrees and to please make a note of which they'd like on the RSVP.

I would just list "kids chicken tenders and fries" as one of the options. We only have three people in the family bringing children so we just reached out to them and asked if chicken tenders and fries were good.

Yes, please list it. You don't want to assume anything and not have enough food!
