Child’s plate

iris, on July 29, 2019 at 6:09 PM Posted in Wedding Reception 0 14
Hello 👋 so we are having kids at the wedding all ages. My question is there will be a couple kids around age 1 to 2 years old. Do we expect them to sit with the parent or are we expected to give them a formal seat at the table? I don’t know if this is a silly question lol. Also should we just offer a child’s plate meal and see what the parent says? The options are pizza and chicken tenders. What is your experience or what are you guys doing in this situation ? TIA

We are getting a children’s meal for all children over 1. We are offering high chairs or regular chairs to all children 2 and under. We’re jist asking the parents. My daughter never would have sat on my lap for an entire reception at a year old so I don’t think it’s fair to assume children will sit on their parents.

We did seats for everyone, including babies. A couple toddlers we rented high chairs for so I would ask the parents if they would rather that. We did kids meals for all kids except for one baby that was under 1 that the mom said she would bring his food.

If a child was too young for a high chair we still gave a seat so the parents could set a carrier down if they wanted to.

Every butt needs a seat. I would also offer them a meal.

I'd say give them a chair and check on high chairs. My caterer said anyone can request a kids meal, that kids are roughly half the cost of adults if they want buffet food, and anyone under 2 was free.
I'd ask the parents as kids reach development milestones at different times so it's hard to tell who will need a meal or not on your own

We are doing a buffet one on my dishes is Swedish-meat balls. They said they will put the noodles separate then the meatballs so kids can have noodles and butter. Put a 1 and 2 year old can eat a lot depending on the kid. I see. Two year olds go thought a few sand-witches. So I would get them something. I would see if they have booster seats. And let the parents know. If they don’t have anything.

I did a seat for everyone, the one baby that attended included! As for food, my venue didn’t charge for children 3 and under so the baby didn’t get charged (since not able to eat a full meal like that) but for the other kids they got the chicken finger kids meal!

We are doing seats for everyone but no child is that that young. Like 4 at the least, if FH's family decides they want to leave the kids at home. I will just reach out to them if they prefer a high chair if they in fact are bringing them. Does your venue only provide a kids meal? Then I would say that's what they get since it's a cheaper cost. Our venue doesn't do kid meals. They get the buffet just at half the cost of an adult since they eat way less. Under the age of 5 for us is free.

I did a seat for everyone but that's because I needed a minimum to get my venue space aha. Otherwise kids under 2 that needed a baby seat my venue allowed to not have counted as a meal seat.

They need a chair - no matter how little or young.

I would do seats for everyone. My brother and sister in law got married in 2015 and had seating charts and had the kids with us. There was so many kids and only a few high chairs that my sister and I both had our 1 1/2 year olds on our laps the whole time trying to get them to eat and try to feed ourselves which is difficult. Also at my brothers wedding they did buffet style no kids plated meals or adults so I just put it all on my plate and fed him off my plate sometimes parents do this for the young young ones because they won't eat a full "meal"

I will be having about 10-15 kids, ages 8 months-10 years old. I am offering children meals for them all, Chicken tenders, veggies & fruit and mac & cheese. As far as seating I will have kids tables for the older kids.
