Chill/inexpensive Bachelorette Party?

J, on January 3, 2019 at 5:50 PM Posted in Parties and Events 0 9
I know I’m gonna sound crazy - but I do not want a ton of alcohol at my bachelorette party. Sometimes I go too hard when I drink (New Years resolution to fix that, haha), but honestly I don’t feel comfortable drinking unless my fiancé is there (he just knows how to take care of me and I feel safer). So I reallyyyyyy don’t want a drunken mess for my bachelorette party. Plus 3 out of my 5 bridesmaids don’t drink at all/much anyways. I also don’t want something that’s insanely expensive (I’d love a spa weekend but I feel like that could get pretty pricey - but if anyone knows how to keep that inexpensive I’d love to hear ideas). Any ideas for a bachelorette party that the focus isn’t basically “get wasted 3 nights straight.”

A few of my friends have done cabin weekends! You can also go to the beach or a lake if you’re near one and just chill. A bachelorette party that isn’t focused on alcohol is totally possible!

I would leave it up to the hostess. She will likely ask if you have any ideas and you can express to her that you don't want heavy drinking. Some suggestions would be pottery painting, a place like Dave and Busters, a board and brush class, a mani/pedi, or a simple girls night in with movies, pampering, and pizza. Besides, your bachelorette party definitely doesn't need to be 3 days long.

You could just do a spa day instead of the whole weekend. That was actually what my girls did for me for my bachelorette party because we are not big drinkers either. Then afterwards we had a nice dinner. It was very relaxing and low key.

We're doing just 1 night at a pretty nice spa/ hotel. We'll do a full spa day the first day, but if any girls don't want to get a treatment, they can still get a day pass access to the spa facilities for about $50. With 3-4 girls to a hotel room + spa treatment, it's around $250 per person.

Our other option was to find an airbnb to stay near the spa, depending on the area that might be more affordable?

I've heard escape rooms are super fun, as are scavenger hunts!

For my sister we went out to eat then to a comedy club. It was a blast. For mine, I was thinking of suggesting something simple like dinner, a paint party or some relaxed outing and a slumber party in a hotel room. I don't get much girl time so thought it would be a good get together and chat.

I'm not a huge drinker either, my maid of honor is Muslim and 2 bridesmaid are my sister and daughter..who are both under 21...lol
We are going to go out to a nice lunch and then go get manicures and pedicures with my soon to be mother in law. Def a different approach...but it works for us and I'll enjoy it more than a night of drinking...and I'm the bride so that's what matters...😂😂😂

Maybe an at home spa night? If someone has a house or apartment you can use? Pinterest has tons of DIY spa things. You could get takeout or tons of appetizers & wine and watch movies then having face masks, nail polish, foot scrubs, foot baths, etc. for people to use throughout the night! You could look into a mobile spa too, then people could pay for massages or facials if they could afford them and the other girls wouldn't have to?

I live in NYC and had only my moh in my bridal party. I had just some close local best friends invited for a day. I told her all I wanted was ice cream, a puppy to play with, and a massage.
We met for brunch, they sent me to get a massage by myself, then we linked up for a picnic in the park where my moh borrowed a friend's dog to play with, and we went out for dinner.
A sleepover would have been cool too.
