We are doing light grey everyday plates from Target. I don’t see a need for us to have fine china as we won’t use it much. My parents only use theirs for Thanksgiving really.

We just registered for something simple and durable we can use everyday. I have dishes that I loved when I got them ten years ago, but they are heavy stoneware and now that I have kids they aren’t a good choice. They also chipped like crazy being moved 5 times. We registered at Bed Bath and Beyond for Nevaeh White by Fitz and Floyd which is white bone China, dishwasher safe, microwave safe, and durable if my kids (inevitable) drop something. I worked in the Home Dept at JCP when I was younger and admired some of the Lenox China, and it’s pretty- but it would be a waste for us. I did add some more decorative serving pieces and things I liked, but I really wanted light weight and durable as my #1 priority for dinnerware.

A lot of fine china has to be hand washed and I am unwilling to do that. I’m a klutz and would probably break 1/2 it anyway. Lastly, I don’t want give up cabinet space to store it. Regular everyday plates for me!

I registered for 2 nice sets of plates, both plain, one sets round and one sets square. All white, I figured I oculd use one as everyday stuff and put the other in my closet to use as our "Nice Plates"

We are skipping on the china and fancy glassware because I will inherit my parent's set at some point.
