Amorette, on April 3, 2015 at 4:33 PM Posted in Planning 0 9

Does anyone know where you can rent a sedan chair for a Chinese ceremony? I'm in the Philadelphia region.

Thanks!

Smiley smile It's for the bride to be carried in down the aisle. I'm actually only going to use it to be carried up to the aisle since the wedding is outdoors and where i come out is a little bit away from where the aisle is. You can check out more about it here. I really hope I find one. If I don't then I will have to make it myself!

Did you end up finding one for your wedding? I'm looking for one but I'm in Los Angeles.

Hey! My now husband ended up making one for me. I don't have a better picture to capture the details but here ya go. It wasn't terribly hard. Finding enough fabric and the details for the trim and such were not as easy. I could help if you end up going that route.

Oh but I think in my search I did randomly find one at a movie prop company in California. Maybe you will have good luck.

Oh cool! Do you have directions or info on how to make one? And was to sit on? Do you have a link to your photo? It didn't come through.

    Thank you!

Hi. I will take better pictures. It is sitting in my lawn and I have more pictures on my computer. The inside has a little bench that I sat on. I put my bouquet between my legs and held on the top beam to balance and move with the motion. The unexpected part was how heavy it was. My husband was scared about it not being strong enough so he made it extremely sturdy. Not sure I would recommend that part. We ended up taking off a layer of plywood and it still needed eight guys to carry me. The plan was only four so I had to recruit some of my nephews at the last minute.

I don't know how to do a link from my phone. (Currently on long road trip) but if you have Instagram my name is Rettely and in the tagged pictures of me there is a picture there of the guys carrying me.
