chip buffet instead of candy buffet

jodie, on May 28, 2012 at 1:55 PM Posted in Community Conversations 0 16

Im thinking of instead of a candy buffet having like a chip buffet. We arent big on candy but we love us some chips. Have like 10 different kinds of chips and 5 or 6 different kinds of dips. What do yall think of that?

If you're intending to use it as a favor, not so portable. But I love my chips! Make sure you have some Popchips!

If you like it, I say go chip away, but personally for me I would think it looked like a cook out or a birthday party. Depends on how you present it.

FH and his buddies love chips and wants a chip table as well. I am looking into presentation right now. So far, the only idea I have come up with is having them prepacked in personalized gift bags.

I think prepackaged is a good idea but I think you should make a little sign or cute poem by the chip table explaining how it pertains to you and your fiancé because it’s different and otherwise your guests will be confused.

It’s a great way to add some personalization to it and add the “aww” factor.

I like it. There are so many different kinds of chips, too. One could get very creative. Even use wedding colors

As long as you're not presenting it as your wedding favors, I think it's fine. It would seem more like a pre-wedding appetizer, unless you're serving hotdogs and hamburgers.

I wouldn't really understand it's a buffet though, just a bunch of chips to choose from.

I LOVVVE that idea!! One of my FH's nicknames (known by all, AND we are naming our tables nicknames; there is a potato chip table, cricket,Tex Cobb, ect) is POTATO CHIP, and this would be AWESOME!!!! Im so copying you!!!

I think it's a great idea! In fact, we intend on having a "snack" table out all night for people to munch on.. things like chips, pretzels, nuts, etc.. just everyday junk food that most people enjoy to eat! Totally go for it!

I think that could be really cute. I agree with James to Be, it's all in the presentation.

We had popcorn on our dessert bar. The DOC put it in glass urns to fancy it up. It looked great and it was almost gone at the end of the night.

I thought about doing this before. Since my FH is from New Orleans I was going to order different flavors of Zapp's chips.

Here is a pic I found for inspiration

I think it's a really original and fun idea. The only thing I would worry about would be messy fingers. You wouldn't want your dress to get stained by orange spices or grease.
