Choosing wedding date

Hi everyone! Hope you are all safe and healthy. We got engaged a few weeks ago and are planning for an August 2021 date. One of my cousins has a May wedding date and I just found out they will most likely postpone until June 2021. Since they were engaged first, they should have “first pick” of a new date. Is 2 months a large enough gap? I have a few family members who will be traveling for both our weddings, which is in the same state (Canada and Florida to Massachusetts). I’m not particularly close to them but don’t want them to feel like they need to pick a wedding to attend if they can’t attend both. Should we consider a new date/2022?

I think two months is definitely a big enough gap, you shouldn’t worry at all.

I think your date is perfect! Two months is definitely enough time, don’t change it! (I have family members that got married 3 weeks apart and everyone was totally fine- more focused on the celebrations than the dates)

I think two months is enough time. Plus with them both being summer months people might look at it as two vacations one at the beginning of summer and one at the end.

No I think they will have enough time to plan to attend both. We have a close friend getting married 13 days before us - some friends traveling for both weddings.. and also a wedding 4 weeks after ours where people from the department will be attending both and could have the time off
