I wish I could help you, but I don't have anything for you. I'm a Christian, but I'm only playing secular music at my reception. I don't know how long your playlist would be with just Christian music. Happy planning though

Are you going to be playing only Christian music? I'm a Christian and I plan on mostly secular... if not entirely.

What does a "Godly" reception consist of?

According to my church it would be:

No alcohol or secular music or dancing. Sounds like Footloose lol.

I'm a Christian but I refuse to stick to such stiff rules and regulations! That's no way to have a celebration imo

Just because people play secular music doesn't make it any less of a godly reception. Whatever that means.

Getting drunk to Christian music just does not sound fun. If this is a dry event, I wouldn't even bother with music.

Have you asked your DJ? I'm sure they have ideas.

Or pull songs from your church's services.

@Lval82 Haha! Some rules that are set are just so silly and baseless. There's nothing wrong with tasteful dancing, I'm not sure why baptists have to be so legalistic over it!

Op, the only entertaining and upbeat music for a Godly reception that I can think of is News Boys. They actually have some songs that are fun to dance to!

I'm having a dj that has done our church events so hopefully we will not have to worry about his choices. Are you having a DJ?

@FMC my 8 year old loves Newsboys and Audio Adrenaline. I know Newsboys has slower songs.

Does your church have a book? I'm not very religious but we are marrying in a church. They gave us a book to choose readings and songs and in what order and all that. Pretty much a fill in the blank. Can you ask them?

@Jess, yes, I imagine it's only "Godly" music, and most likely no wine or beer. But op can correct me if I'm wrong!
