Church and Face Masks?

Christina, on July 22, 2020 at 4:56 PM Posted in Wedding Ceremony 0 14

Hello future brides!

Has anyone received information about their guests and the bridal party needed to wear masks during the Church?

We recently spoke with our church and so far they are able to do a small wedding ceremony of 50 - 60 guests.

The rehearsal can only be 10 people. Parents. myself and fiancé and MOH and Best Man.

They mention everyone needed to wear masks. I'm wondering about us the bride and groom and wedding party?

Does anyone have information about bridal party wearing masks?

This is so sad that we have to even be thinking about this.

If they say everyone then they mean every single person, including the bride and groom.

You can buy decorative masks on Etsy that coordinate with your attire.

Like Jana said, if the church said everyone then that includes the bridal party, the bride and the groom.

I’m sorry you’re dealing with this. Any chance they have grounds outdoors for a ceremony?

You can ask them, but if they make an exception it would be a per church thing. In all likelihood, they will ask you to wear masks, but the only way to know is to specifically ask.

Our priest told us we could wear a mask if we wanted to look like
Fools 🤦🏼‍♀️ But he said everyone watching would need to wear one and bridal party in the pews, just not as they head down the aisle

Yeah we heard something very similar to that. I got off the phone with the church today and after they said everyone needs to wear a mask I than thought did he mean us too? We heard allowing the bride and from being allowed to not wear them. I was just too emotional at that point to call back and find out. We are now weighing out our options. Still have 2 months!

That’s one of our ideas! We are thinking of possibly moving the ceremony to an outdoor venue as a backup. I would just hate to have photos of everyone in masks. We already changed out first date and now possibly changing again.

We heard different things so far like the guests will only have to wear them. I’m just seeing what everyone has seen so far. I’m hoping in 2 months things will be less strict. This is such a special day

Near us, ones I have been to ( 2 now) and seen on church lawns, they are wearing decorative ones. And most bride's, whatever lacy or decorative veil they may wear, are wearing a sheer, high number of threads but see-through finger tip length veil ( longer since not a closed bottom) as their face covering. Lift just for a minute for a kiss then down. Only 1 I saw had a long lacy veil that stayed back, but she kept the sheer over her face. Off for posed pictures with spouse, only, and photographer at a distance, no one else around. Very fine netting has been worn against disease, pests and insects for centuries, and is a nicer look than a mask. Eat at a sweetheart table off a ways to lift it to eat, down to make rounds or dance. Church and Face Masks? 1
Make sure it is a high denier ( high thread count) sheer veiling. Tulle and lace won't do. And as long as your wrists at least when standing arms down.

If you do not know, the very fi eat weave super sheer expensive stockings are high denier. This veiling has a silky feel and a sheen.

Hi Christina! Each company and church can make their own regulations - so I'd ask now if they're including the couple & their wedding party when they say everyone needs to wear a mask!
