Church and reception hall venues in PG county, MD

Virtue, on February 10, 2013 at 6:21 PM Posted in Planning 0 12

Hi, I am looking for a recommendation for a nice church in the PG county area for a wedding for 2014. I would prefer a church that has a nice fellowship hall as well for a reception . If not does anyone know of any reasonable yet nice banquet facilities or hotels in the area. Most that I have researched are pretty expensive per person.

Baldwin Hall in Bowie is nice. If you are willing to go to Edgewater, MD (just east of Annapolis) the Knights of Columbus there is VERY reasonable and lets you bring the caterer of your choice (Call Bayside Bull- they are awesome and very reasonable). Mt Oak Church may meet your needs as well. Not sure what denomination you are looking for.

Thanks Maria.. I am open to the church usage as long as the stage setting is great for weddings and picture taking. I will defiantly look into your suggestions.

For the reception (or for both ceremony and reception, if a church is not necessary), you might look at some of the historic properties owned by Prince George's County Parks. Here's a link:

Or for an even less expensive alternative, you could check out PG Parks Recreation Center rental:

**** I forgot to mention, I love the idea of having an all inclusive package with venues such Martins etc however the budget may not allow. Does anyone know of any caterers that may have reasonable service that include food as well as plate and linen service? As you can see I'm néw to this and not knowledgable of many vendors in the area.. Thanks in advance...

To Blessed to be stressed catering. They are doing my reception food, centerpieces, linen, and cake. They are extremely reasonably priced. They also have additional services as well. They are based in Laurel. I'm getting married at the PG ballroom. We got a discount for being a Resident of PG county.

Welcome to the WeddingWire Community @Virttue! Smiley smile

Have you tried getting your 'recommended' vendors right here within your account on WeddingWire!?

Based on your answers to a few questions (budget, number of people, location, etc.), the system will automatically populate a list of possibilities that will fit your needs.

    To start:

-Go to 'My Wedding' and click 'My Vendors'

    -Click the 'Recommended Vendors' tab

This should help you get a better idea of what's out there for you to choose from!

Also, don't forget that you can search directly from our homepage at www.weddingwire.com for 'Venues' in your area.

Good luck and happy planning! Smiley smile

We are using Sweet Sensations LLC for our reception. They are doing our food, cake, and decorations. For your reception, how far outside of PG county are you willing to go? or is it a must to stay inside PG?

I'm using the Historic Baldwin Hall even though im sure by now you have your venue but you get a 24 hour rental only for 1000$ and you can self cater a great DIY venue.
