Church wedding fee

Samantha, on October 24, 2016 at 10:12 AM Posted in Planning 0 21

Just curious, for those who had a church wedding what did they charge you, if anything? I know all churches are different, and then I know being a member of the church can help too. Thanks in advance!

We had to pay a donation of 700$ - We weren't members, because we got married in a town a few hours away (where I used to live...) - I think it was 400$ for parishoners

We're paying $750. It's at a Catholic church so that covers the pre-cana and foccus testing as well as the church for the rehearsal and reception, and the music

My church doesn't charge anything for members, but it's several hundred dollars for non-members. Most churches will give you the schedule of fees is you stop in their office or give them a call!

Okay thanks everyone! I ideally would like to get married in a church but I wanted to have a different place to have my reception. But if my church was going to be hundreds of dollars I was just have the reception and the wedding at the same place because it's only an extra $200.

We paid $2000 for our chapel and got $500 back afterwards (damage deposit). The chapel we used was a university chapel- we picked it for looks- the cost definitely wouldn't have been as much at our own church.

We have a $150 parish donation. Pre-cana is costing us $80. For music I was told that the organist is between $100-$150 and others pay for a singer but my grandpa is going to sing at our wedding (he sings at church all the time and is so happy to sing at our wedding). Good luck!

The church we used cost $400. That included them doing our sound/music. We were not members at the church. It was free for members.

No fee for us, but its $150 to use their AV equipment (needs to be manned by their staff) and a $100 clean up fee if we don't want to do it ourselves, plus we're giving a donation

Free for us, because I am a member. We plan to pay the Pastor about $100 (his standard fee for weddings and funerals, plus tip), $50 each for our organists (they are insistent on doing it as their gift to us, but I'm not comfortable with that due to all the rehearsal time I know they'll put in), and probably a $100 donation to the church.

Ours was obnoxious...mandatory donation of $1250 which did not include precana. But it was a very pretty Church. I'm not Catholic and had no idea Catholic Churches were so expensive around here (Chicago).

Ours was free for use of the church and the hall for the reception. We did have to pay $150 to an outside group for pre-Cana and we paid the organist, cantors, servers, and priests separate voluntary stipends.

Our catholic church wanted $1100. $800 for church and $300 for the pianist. We ended up deciding to do everything at the venue because it was more convenient for our guests and was only $550! No gap between ceremony and reception!!!

My church is free for members but I'm getting married at a park by the ocean but I will be having my reception at my church and that is free as well.
